Growing up black in Milwaukee 

 

 the disparities in academics and athletics

Milwaukee, WI is the most racially segregated metro area in the United States, according to a 2019 Brookings Institution study. Our fight for #BlackLivesMatter is not limited to defunding the police – but closing the disparities within our schools, our athletes, our financial freedom, our communities – as they all matter as well!

The abrupt cancellations, closings and general chaos associated with the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic has left many of us stunned, confused, hurt and looking for answers. While we can’t address everything that a student-athlete is feeling at this moment, we look to provide some general resources and tips that may help one cope with this unique situation.
